Week three of the baking competition didn't see too much of a shakeup, but one fan-favourite character did get the boot.
We say fan favourite because he was one of the show's biggest characters. Sadly, last night's 'GBBO' saw Rowan and his go-big-or-go-home attitude leave the competition. It wasn't very surprising considering he was towards the bottom of the group every week since the show started.
However, there was joy for Marc who won star baker for the first time during bread week, which led to his family rushing in to give him a heartfelt hug at the end of the show. This year, contestants were allowed to bring family members to stay with them in the hotel while filming the competition in quarantine.

On last night's episode, judge Prue Leith got some attention for her choice of outfit.

Anyone else think Prue’s dressed as the PS4 Spider-Man? #GBBO pic.twitter.com/xRzKozK0JU

While Paul Hollywood saying that the rainbow bagel in the technical challenge was a representation of the NHS, certainly raised a few eyebrows.
Paul Hollywood: it represents the nhs.

And finally, it was time for one of this year's biggest characters to hang up their apron for good. Rowan's leaving saw many viewers online praise his unflappable exterior throughout the past three weeks of the competition.
Here are the best reactions to his leaving. He sure loved a cup of tea.
I know it’s supposed to be a lovely heartwarming show but if Rowan doesn’t go this week I am going to burn my house to the ground #GBBO

Rowan having a cuppa in his hand at the most stressful moments is the level of unbothered I aspire to be ☕️#GBBO #GreatBritishBakeOff #BreadWeek #BakeOff pic.twitter.com/xyUJ6euhQ9

rowan is utterly unflappable. paul hollywood could say to rowan “I think your bread is absolutely shit” and he’d just look at him over his glasses and say “oh you do, do you” #gbbo pic.twitter.com/nWYhvtTJdF

‘I would normally snooze, or play the piano actually, while the dough was rising, or perhaps do a spot of gardening’
If I don’t age into Rowan I’ll be absolutely devastated.#GBBO

'GBBO' returns to TV screens next Tuesday night at 8pm on Channel 4.
