U2
frontman Bono is in the hot seat for Gay Byrne's 'The Meaning Of Life' next week and according to Gaybo no question was off limits for the star. So we can we expect all the juicy gossip then! The interview, which is due to air next Tuesday June 25th, will see the singer talk about the philosophy of life, his beliefs and values and other such gems!

Speaking about getting the chance to interview Bono, Byrne said, 'Bono is one of the people who I have always wanted to feature on the Meaning Of Life. For one of Ireland's most influential figures he has managed to maintain a remarkable degree of privacy. We had spoken many times about doing the interview as I knew this would be very different to any we had done in the past.'

'Many people will be surprised that Bono has a deeply-rooted belief which permeates his everyday life and motivates all his campaigning work. Nothing was off limits and he opened up about his innermost beliefs, his religion, his family and of course the influence of his beliefs on U2.' he added.

Gay also revealed that Bono was aware of peoples opinions of him. 'People laugh at Bono and he's well aware of it and couldn't give a tuppenny curse – as far as he is concerned, what he's doing is more important than being laughed at. He knows in order to do anything you have to stick your head above the parapet and when you do that, especially in a small country like Ireland, you'll get attacked'.

In order to prepare for the show Bono took some time off to contemplate his interview. The singer took two days off between promoting the new album and the interview to clear his head, as he knew the interview was not going to be a regular run of the mill interview. Bono has recently been in the headlines for the publication of a new book which accuses him of worsening the problems of campaigns he is involved in. A topic which we will see covered in the show.

The Meaning of Life airs next Tuesday 25th June on RTE One at 9.35pm.
