They give with one hand and take with the other.
While information on the upcoming season is still pretty hard to come by, HBO snuck the episode lengths up onto their website yesterday and 'Game of Thrones' fan site Watchers on the Wall was there immediately to snatch all the facts.
And while season seven may only be seven episodes long, it's going to contain two of the longest episodes of the show yet with the sixth and seventh episodes coming in at 71 minutes and 81 minutes long.
By comparison, the longest episode that we've seen so far was the season six finale 'The Winds of Winter' which clocked in at 69 minutes so we're truly in for some epic scenes by the looks of things.
On the other hand, the show is also delivering its shortest ever episode this season as episode four will be just 50 minutes in length.
The whole season length breaks down as follows:
Episode 1: 59 minutes.
Episode 2: 59 minutes.
Episode 3: 63 minutes.
Episode 4: 50 minutes.
Episode 5: 59 minutes.
Episode 6: 71 minutes.
Episode 7: 81 minutes.
So we may only be getting seven episodes but apart from episode four, they're all pretty supersized which means shit is definitely going down.
We're still waiting on episode titles and descriptions but they're probably not going to tell us much anyway.
Five weeks and counting...
