There'll be some very happy faces and lots of champers going around Titanic Studios in Belfast this morning.

'Game of Thrones' became the most awarded drama in Emmy history this weekend after taking home nine awards over the two nights (casting in a drama series; production design for a narrative contemporary or fantasy program; costumes for a period/fantasy series; single-camera picture editing for a drama series; makeup for a single-camera series (non-prosthetic); prosthetic makeup for a series, limited series, movie or special; sound mixing for a comedy or drama series; special visual effects (its fifth consecutive win in the category); and stunt coordination for a drama series, limited series or movie, if you're wondering).

As of last year the show had 26 awards, tying with 'The West Wing' and 'Hill Street Blues' for most Emmy wins, but now that's obviously changed and will probably continue to change after this weekend's Emmy awards, although it has a long way to go to beat the record for most ever wins (currently held by 'Saturday Night Live' and standing at 48 wins).

Netflix's 'Making A Murderer' also picked up some Emmy gold, winning four awards (Documentary Series, Writing for a Nonfiction Program, Directing for a Nonfiction Program, Editing for a Nonfiction Program), cementing its cult status in TV history in the process.
