The stunning comic from the iconic Frank Miller is getting a new lease on life, this time on the small screen rather than the big.
Sin City was first adapted in 2005 in a feature starring Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen and Brittany Murphy, among others. In 2014, Eva Green and Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined the cast for the sequel - Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Miller directed both films with Robert Rodriguez.
According to Deadline, the TV reboot will ‘hew closely to the graphic novels’ and will introduce simultaneous interacting realities.
Former Walking Dead and Damien showrunner Glen Mazzara is on board to write it. Mazzara’s script will use the world Miller created but introduce new characters and story elements.
Len Wiseman, who wrote the original Underworld movie and produced such TV series as Sleepy Hollow and Lucifer, will direct.
The Weinstein Company is producing but there’s no network attached yet. Stephen L’Heureux (producer on Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) will oversee it and produce with Miller, Mazzara, Wiseman and Bob & Harvey Weinstein.
