Cathal Pendred's acting career isn't shaping up too badly following the former MMA fighter's decision to retire from the ring last year and turn his attention to Hollywood.

He previously managed to land himself a role in the upcoming Baywatch flick, while now he's just announced he has been cast in Sky Atlantic's Ray Donovan, which stars Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight.

The 28-year-old Dubliner shared a pic from behind-the-scenes on set of the show, which is now in its fourth season.

Earlier in the year Pendred spoke of his decision to move into acting with 2fm's Breakfast Republic; "It's something I've always been interested in.

"I've done some small parts here and there but now that I have a bit of extra time and don't have to focus everything on a fight I'm doing auditions".

No specific details have emerged on either roles yet but we'll keep you posted.
