Fancy yourself as a bit of Norseman? Loved Thor? Well then you might want to give the crew at Vikings a call.
You might already be familiar with the historical drama series, which was filmed in Wicklow, Dublin and Meath last year: The show is now returning for a second and longer series, so the crew are putting the call out for some extras to fill the ranks.
If you're interested in taking part then you can head along to one of three open casting days which will be taking place in Wicklow and Dublin. Filming will take place most in the Wicklow and Dublin areas, with the production company who brought us The Tudors and Camelot running the show here in our own back garden.
So, if you fancy spending some time in old school garb, or just getting your Viking on (and getting paid for it to boot) then here are all the details you'll need:
Open Casting Days
Wicklow
Wednesday June 5th
The Grand Hotel, Abbey Street, Wicklow Town
11am - 6pm
Dublin
Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
Thursday June 6th: 9.30am - 6.30pm
Friday June 7th: 9.30am - 5pm
Who are they looking for?
The gang are on the lookout for adults, both male and female, from all ethnic backgrounds and in all shapes and sizes. If you're a real fisherman, sailor, rower, axeman/woman, swordsman/woman, archer, bowman/woman, carpenter, craftsperson, famrer, butcher, weaver, hunter, blacksmith, metal worker, lumberjack, whittler, midwife, nurse, musician or amputee then it's an added bonus.
Of course even if you don't have previous experience then you could still have the look the crew are searching for, so make sure to head along on the day. Epescially if you have one of those faces that really stands out from the crowd.
What do you need to do?
All you need to bring is yourself: The crew will take your details and a quick photo. You do need to be permitted to work in Ireland though. For further enquiries please phone 040478758. CV’s and headshots will not be accepted by email at this time but enquiries can be made via [email protected]
Both ourselves and Thor wish you good luck.
