If there's one thing we worry about when heading off on those long haul international flights it's not being able to keep up with what's happening down in the Dales or on the Corrie cobbles, but now it looks as though all that's going to change.

Soap fans will be only too delighted to discover that they can keep up with the Dingles while flying thanks to Virgin Atlantic. The airline is set to offer a brand new in-flight catch up service that will allow its passengers to follow the latest storylines while they're on board.

"Here at Virgin Atlantic we are always looking for new ways to add to our customers' experience every time they fly with us" the company's director of Brand and Customer Experience Reuben Arnold said. "This latest venture with ITV is another great example of this."

The soaps will start showing on board from November, with Emmerdale and Coronation Street leading the way. In fairness, it's probably best that they aren't showing EastEnders. Long haul flights are depressing enough without Walford's finest piling on the misery.

Now, if only Virgin Atlantic flew from Dublin, eh?
