We won't be waiting too long to see Cillian Murphy back on the small screen, because his new BBC Two gangster drama is getting a very special premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival next month.
Peaky Blinders tells the tale of Thomas Shelby (Murphy), the leader of the infamous 1920s Birmingham gang who took their name from their most deadly practise: Sweing razor blades into the peaks of their caps. How quaint. Anyway, he's not quite content with his lot in life, and when a crate of guns goes missing from an arms factory, he sees his chance to hit the big time
As if our Cillian wasn't enough to draw you in, Sam Neill of Jurassic Park fame and Helen McCrory (Malfoy's mammy from Harry Potter) are among the cast too. The six-part series hits TV screens later this summer, but anyone who is lucky enough to have a ticket will be able to see the first two episodes in Edinburgh on June 25th.
Oh, and do make sure to keep an eye out for the Nidge Weasel: Tom Vaughan Lawlor's playing an IRA man who might just have something to do with those missing weapons...
