Sherlock fans have been having a minor conniption about that teaser trailer the BBC dropped over the weekend so we can only imagine how delighted they'll be to hear that the beloved super sleuth is coming back to our TV screens this Christmas,
Yep, it's finally been confirmed that Sherlock Season 3 will DEFINITELY return to our TV screens this Christmas, with the first episode airing some time between December 21st and January 3rd. They still aren't giving us an exact air date (yes BBC, you go ahead and prolong that torture) but at least we're one step closer, eh?
The show is just one of a series of high profile Christmas offerings, which the BBC announced in the magazine. Matt Smith makes his Doctor Who exit in The Time of the Doctor, Danny Dyer makes his debut as the new landlord of the Queen Vic in EastEnders and there's also a Great British Bake Off Christmas Special on offer.
Add to that the Atlantis series finale, David Walliams' new offering Gangsta Granny, a Top of The Pops 2 Christmas Special and Call Centre Christmas Choir (no, really) and you've got quite the combination coming from the UK broadcaster.
Oh, and there are plenty of films too, what with Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, Gnomeo and Juliet, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Little Fockers and Megamind on offer.
Now to wait and see what RTE have for us, eh?
