We've endured many TV and movie reunions over the past year or so - however, due to the circumstances of the world, many of these have taken place remotely via Zoom. Thankfully, this reunion of one of TV's biggest series was able to take place in the flesh.

Although Emilia Clarke and Jason Mamoa only shared the screen together for one season of 'Game of Thrones', their characters' storyline was crucial in setting up the journey which The Mother of Dragons would embark on for the following seven seasons.

The pair, who played Daenerys Targaryen/Khaleesi and her eventual husband Khal Drogo in the fantasy series, managed to have a mini 'GOT' over the weekend, looking extremely happy to be back together once again.

Emilia Clarke uploaded her picture taken in the arms of Jason Mamoa, writing: "When your sun and stars rolls into town you check that he can still bench press a Khaleesi."

The reunion took place during 'GOT' showrunner David Benioff's birthday celebrations, and Jason added a few of his own pictures from the night too.

He wrote on his Instagram post: "MOON OF MY LIFE. you are wonderful love u forever [Emilia Clarke] #smilelyeyes happy birthday benioff you handsome generous badass."

Since leaving 'GOT', Jason Mamoa has gone on to become a blockbuster action hero. He plays Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe and will also appear in the upcoming 'Dune' remake. 'Sweet Girl' is his upcoming Netflix film, which will release on August 20.

Emilia Clarke has also enjoyed some action hero time on the screen over the years, playing Sarah Connor in 'Terminator Genisys' and Qi'ra in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'.

The main 'Game of Thrones' series finished up in 2019 to timid applause from viewers, but nonetheless, HBO is ploughing ahead with many spin-offs, prequels, and animated series. 'House Of The Dragon' will be the first production, which is set to premiere in 2022.
