David Fincher will return to TV (well, it was for Netflix, but still) for the first time since House of Cards, as his 80s set series, Video Synchronicity, has been picked up for 10 episodes by HBO.
The show is being described tonally as "along the lines of Entourage" and centres on a young director who makes his way to Hollywood with dreams of making a science fiction epic. Instead, he picks up work as a production assistant for a company who make music videos.
Fincher got his start in music videos as a director, so knows the game very well. He's directed some of the best music videos ever made, including 'Vogue' for Madonna and 'Janie's Got a Gun' for Aerosmith.
Fincher will direct the first two episodes, while old pal Bob Stephenson is also heavily involved. The series will star Charlie Rowe (in the lead), Sam Page, Jason Flemyng, Kerry Condon, Elizabeth Lail, Corbin Bernsen and Paz Vega.
