One of the most dark and wholly original shows on TV at the minute, Hannibal, has had its share of famous guest stars. Gillian Anderson, Michael Pitt, Lance Henriksen, Eddie Izzard and many more have all guested on the show, but there's one man showrunner Bryan Fuller is keen to have on.
The Thin White Duke himself, David Bowie.
Fuller announced that he was trying to Bowie for an episode or two in the just-finished second season of the hit TV show. Now that Hannibal has secured a third season, Fuller's said that Bowie is still very much interested in the show. "He's aware. He's very aware. But he's also very, very busy," he told Collider in a recent interview.
Fuller went on to explain that Bowie's schedule has prevented him from appearing on the show, but that with a third season lined up, Bowie's still keen to appear on the show.
The hit show, based on the novels Red Dragon and Hannibal, tells a slightly skewed version of Hannibal Lecter's story and focuses on his relationship with FBI profiler Will Graham. Lecter is played by Casino Royale's Mads Mikkelsen whilst Graham is played by British actor Hugh Dancy. The show is known for its highly stylised visuals and extreme gore, but has become a cult hit with fans.
