It remains his most well-known role.

Yet although Daniel Radcliffe has managed to largely shirk the baggage that came with playing Harry Potter throughout his teenage years, it seems he is not completely against reprising it at some stage.

With news breaking earlier this year about a new TV adaptation of JK Rowling's groundbreaking series of novels on the way for Max (formerly HBO Max), many wondered whether Radcliffe - who recently became a father - would make some sort of appearance in the updated Boy Wizard's tale.

However, in an interview with ComicBook.com, he said that he was "not seeking it out in any way".

"My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh, and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere,” he said. "So, I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way."

He went on to wish the as-yet-unnamed actor who will next be taking on the role of Harry "all the luck in the world",  adding: "I’m very excited to have that torch passed, but I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it."

The new 'Harry Potter' series will span a decade, with each of Rowling's books (seven in total) being given its own season. Max said that the series "will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years."
