It looks like the original CSI could be killed off in brutal fashion by TV studio CBS.

After fifteen seasons and three spin-offs, fans of the long-running crime procedural may be facing an abrupt end to the series ala Law & Order last year.

That show, which was close to becoming the longest-running TV drama of all time, was cancelled without a written ending for the show.

As for CSI, it's understood that that studio is looking for a short season, six episodes in total, to round out the story and tie the whole thing up.

Ted Danson, who we had no idea was in CSI now, stars alongside Elizabeth Shue, again - no idea, in the procedural which began all the way back in 2000.

The latest spinoff, CSI: Cyber, stars Academy Award-winning actress Patricia Arquette and Dawson Creek's James Van Der Beek as two FBI agents involved with tracking down the so-called Dark Web.

As for the original CSI, it's still set in Vegas, however may fans believe the show began to lose its appeal when Grissom, played by William Petersen.

Do you still watch it? And would you be sad to see CSI cancelled? Let us know in the comments!
