As fans of Corrie know, Peter Barlow is whiling away his time these days in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He's not the only Corrie resident banged up though, and next week he comes face to face with another former man of the cobbles, Mr Jim McDonald.
Jim was a regular character in the soap for 11 years between 1989 until 2000. and has returned intermittently since then, with his most recent stint landing him behind bars. Peter meets him when he tries to find somewhere to get a drink inside, and he is directed to a person called 'The Landlord' which low and behold is only Jim 'Ach eye' McDonald.
Actor Charlie Lawson who plays Jim said to be on the show for at least three months and the story could keep him there until Christmas. A source told The Daily Mirror; "Charlie was delighted to get the call to return... He still has lots of friends on the Street and will be back in June to film initially for around three months."
'If things go well he will be there until the end of the year and it could lead to more work.
'The character Jim is still very much in prison so the storyline won’t see him back on the Street itself, but that could happen in years to come.'
As you can see, he rocks up in his double denim, mug in hand, no doubt with some perils of 'Jim McDonald wisdom' for wee Peter... or at the very least a 'what about ye?'
