The rumours of this have been running rife since before Christmas, but today it has finally been confirmed that Republic Of Telly stars Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O' Shea are to replace Hector on the Breakfast show on 2fm. Hector resigned just before Christmas, and there was a lot of speculation as to who would replace the comedy man.
Jennifer and Bernard will be joined by former Phantom 105.2 presenter Keith Walsh. Both Keith and Bernard are no strangers to Breakfast radio, or indeed each other, as they co-hosted a breakfast show together for three years on iRadio 105-107. While Keith also co-hosted the Phantom Breakfast show with Joe Donnelly until recently.
It's an interesting move for 2fm, and one no doubt they will hope will bring up their listenership figures. Might be a bit 'busy' though no, with three presenters all fighting for the mike? Also, with Bernard getting much bigger on the comedy scene, these early starts might take their toll... But look, we won't be naysayers yet, and wish them all the best!
