Fans of TV show Community will know Joel McHale well as the womanising yet lovable narcissist Jeff Winger, however we are soon about to see a new side to McHale as he has been cast in the upcoming revival of hit nineties show The X Files.
McHale is set to play an unlikely” ally of Mulder’s, presumably to help him continue on his quest to find the truth out there. (Did they ever find the truth out there in the end? We can hardly remember.)
The Community star is the first actor signed in for a guest starring role in the six-part series, which sees the return of show leads David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in their iconic roles as Mulder and Scully.
According to Deadline; "McHale will play Tad O’Malley, the anchor of a popular conservative Internet news network who becomes an unlikely ally for Fox Mulder (Duchovny)."
How will he do without his motley crew of Community Collage misfits? We will just have to wait until next year to find out, as The X Files won't make its return until January 20th on Fox.
