She's baaaaack. After trying her, err, claw, at the whole pop career thing, and giving the West End stage a go, Diana Vickers has finally turned her attention back towards the tellybox. The former X Factor contestant (and love of wee Eoghan Quigg's life) will make her small screen debut in a brand new comedy on Sky Living later this year.
As per The Sun, Diana will be joining former EastEnders star Tracy-Ann Oberman (She was Dirty Den's new wife, Chrissie Watts) in Give Out Girls, a comedy which tells the tale of a group of promotions girls who attempt to sell a variety of products to clients. Y'know yourself, the ones that totter around the oul nightclubs with your free shots and such.
Anyway, Miss Vickers is apparently delighted to be getting back in front of the camera, and gushed about her new role. "I'm so excited about doing my first comedy show. It's different from any acting I've done before" she said. "The script is hilarious - I was laughing my head off just reading it. The rest of the cast are great, we all have really good chemistry. I can't wait to get in front of the camera and start filming."
Diana previously starred in 'The Rise and Fall of Little Voice' on the West End stage in 2009, and won London Newcomer Of The Year at the Theatregoers' Choice Awards for her efforts. Here's hoping she shows the same pzazz on the telly eh?
If you're a big fan of her music there's no need to panic: She hasn't thrown in the towel just yet. In fact, her latest album, 'Music To Make Boys Cry', will be released later this year. In the meantime, enjoy our favourite Diana performance, complete with subtitles.
