In case you don't know, Busy Philipps is a massive fan of Oprah Winfrey. Like, a humongous fan.
When she appeared on Stephen Colbert two months ago to promote her new late night talk show 'Busy Tonight', she said her dream guest would be Oprah Winfrey. She has never met Oprah in spite of them having a couple of close encounters.
Busy will genuinely use any excuse to talk about Oprah and has brought up the legend with her talk show guests Mindy Kaling, Maura Tierney and Chrissy Metz.
She even has a phone on set that is only for Oprah Winfrey.
Last night, the dream of Busy Philipps came true when during a recording of her latest show, the Oprah phone rang.
She totally lost it, freaking out and crying, and it genuinely is quite touching.
After Busy Philipps told Winfrey how much she loved her and managed to stop crying, they talked about Harvest Day (Oprah has “the hugest tangerines you’ve ever seen) and Busy even snagged an invite to visit Winfrey at a later date. Oprah also congratulated her as a female late night talk show host.
"I'm never recovering from this," Busy says. "This is so amazing, thank you so much for calling."
