Strictly Come Dancing fans brace yourself - it looks like we may not be seeing as much of ‘ol Brucy as we’re used to. In an interview with Radio Times, the 85-year old Strictly Come Dancing host talked about leaving the UK for six months a year in order to avoid the cold winter weather. But where will you go Bruce? Puerto Rico of course - the homeland of his wife Wilnelia Merced.
Talking to the Radio Times he said:
"It's 85°F there. I don't know why I came back to this stinking cold place. I would contemplate just doing six months a year in this country. If this is going to be our regular winter, I'm going to vanish in October and come back at the end of May."
Sounds lovely, but what does that mean for Strictly Come Dancing?! If Bruce were to spend the winter months off sunning himself, it would likely cause a clash. When posed with the possibility of missing the show Bruce said:
“Oh yes, but we’ll forget about that...”
Nice and vague. But I suppose you can’t blame him. With the schizophrenic weather we’re having of late, I’d be doing exactly the same thing if I was in Bruce’s dancing shoes.
What do you think - would you still watch 'Strictly' without Bruce at the helm? If he was to leave the show, who would you like to see take his place?
