'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' is adding Oscar-winning royalty to their long list of celebrity appearances, by adding 'Spiderman' and 'Whiplash' actor J.K. Simmons into their most recent episode.
A 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' J.K. Simmons crossover is on the cards in season seven. Simmons, who won a supporting actor Academy Award for his incredible role in 'Whiplash' will be joining Andy Samberg and co as he plays Detective Dillman, a former colleague of Capt. Holt (Andre Braugher). He enters the precinct after a prank goes wrong, and as with all of Holt's previous colleagues, the pair go way back, and it's up to Dillman to help solve the new case as he rolls into the nine-nine wearing sunglasses and strutting around in his tailored suit.
J.K. Simmons joins the long list of celebrity appearances in the series, with Patton Oswalt, Pete Davidson, Fred Armisen, Zooey Deschanel, Adam Sandler and Ed Helms all popping up in the past.
In recent years, the actor has lent his voice talents to playing Lenny Turtletaub in Netflix's animated comedy series 'Bojack Horseman'. There's also a rumour going around that he will reprise his acclaimed role as J. Jonah Jameson in Sony Pictures' upcoming 'Spider-Man' spin-off, 'Morbius' starring Jared Leto. He already made a brief cameo appearance in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', so stranger things have happened.
Be sure to tune into the 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' J.K. Simmons crossover very soon.
