He knows a thing or two about getting the key to your life (yeeee-aaaah-eh), but baby, can he feed you tonight? That's the question we'll all be asking when Shane Lynch takes to the kitchen in just a few weeks time.
The Boyzone star is among 16 hopefuls who have just signed up for the BBC's latest series of Celebrity MasterChef. He'll have to fend off culinary competition in the form of semi-Sugababe (we're not entirely sure what the story is with the old and the new) Heidi Range, entertainer Les Dennis, soap villain Brian Capron (Coronation Street's Richard Hillman), organic entrepreneur/ Ronnie Wood's ex-wife Jo Wood, and Janet Street-Porter to name but a few.
He's looking rather scrubbed up in the promo shots for the new series, so here's hoping our Shane has a surprise talent to boot. We can't say we had a picture of him as the Jamie Oliver type in our minds, but sure if Aengus MacGrianna can surprise us with his cooking prowess, we're sure Shane could be so good too.
The return of Celebrity MasterChef to this BBC One peak time slot sees thrills and spills and some extraordinary cooking from our line-up of well-known faces." said Carla-Maria Lawson, Executive Producer for the BBC. "In this series, the contestants' enthusiasm in their pursuit of the MasterChef trophy is palpable, often inspiring and sometimes very, very funny."
Now we just hope John Torode and Gregg Wallace can understand our boy's dulcet Dublin tonight. Sure we'll still love him here, and that's all that matters now, no matter what, right?
