The period drama Boardwalk Empire starring the fantastically awesome Steve Buscemi (well he is) will come to end this year after the fifth and final season. But things are going to take a bit of a twist as the show plans on moving forward seven years in the future for its last season.
The popular HBO show will go forward to the time of the Great Depression in America. The actor who plays Chalky White in the series told Den of Geek; "The storyline has jumped seven years [into the future], which is why I have the beard now. The Depression has set in. The days of the shiny shoes and fancy suits are long gone."
The show which also stars Kelly Macdonald and Michael Shannon will return for its final season in Autumn on Sky Atlantic.
