This story is a bit grim for a Friday, so buckle up. News coming in from Metro is that the 'Better Call Saul' actor pretended to be a war veteran in order to land Hollywood roles, including being cast as Skell in the hit AMC show. He said, "I was hired because I lied."
Latourette, who admits to being bipolar, also had a role in George Clooney's 'The Men who Stare at Goats'. Speaking in an interview with 'KOB-TV', the actor admitted "I severed my hand with a skilsaw. The state of my mind was a psychotic episode.
"The film industry took a different angle… that I was different, and so they liked that. They trusted me that I was exactly who I said I was. I was a war veteran."
He continued, "I was dishonourable. I’m killing my career by doing this, if anyone thinks this was for personal edification, that’s not the case. I’m ousting myself from the New Mexico film Industry. And gladly so, just to say what I’ve said."
The snowballing of lies that the actor has spun has clearly taken it's toll on him over the years, and he needed to get this off his chest. Speaking about his current mental state, Latourette said, "The power is in your hands to take your medication in the morning, or at night. This discourse of my life doesn’t need to necessarily be yours. Because it happens quick… it happens quick."
