No, this is not a dream, this is actually going to happen. There's going to be a theme park in England dedicated to all your favourite TV shows, including the likes of Doctor Who and Top Gear.
BBC Worldwide have just signed a landmark deal with Paramount to open the theme park which is scheduled for 2020. It's to feature games and rides based on the channels most popular programmes, a statement which has played with our imaginations no end. Can we race cars like the Top Gear lads? Will there be some sort of time travelling rollercoaster?
What about their less adventurous shows.... will there be an office where we can all go sit around and Ricky Gervais comes in and dances? Or a hospital ward set up like Casualty? Lunch at the Queen Vic?! I don't know if they've thought this through yet, but either way, we are THERE!
According to The Telegraph, BBC programmes and characters will feature prominently in the entertainment resort alongside Paramount properties. While Stephen Davies, Director of Live Events, BBC Worldwide, said: "We’re always looking for opportunities to extend fans’ enjoyment of their favourite shows and the idea behind this resort is a really exciting way of celebrating the very special place the BBC has in British culture.”
