We're gearing up for another Bank Holiday weekend here in entertainment towers and if, like some of us, you'd prefer to kick off your three day weekend from the comfort of your own sofa then your biggest dilemma will be deciding which chat show host to tune into this evening.
Kicking things off at 9.35pm are Ryan Tubridy and co who shift away from the movies this week. They're keeping with the rugby theme by getting Warren Gatland on for his own Sinead v Miley pow wow reaction to Brian O'Driscoll's comments last Friday night. Tubbs told RTE Ten that Gatland is "a big fella and well able to defend himself", and sure won't Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh be there to reassure him that he's only talking about a whole lotta history?
Of course Kimberley will be discussing Nadine Coyle's baby news (whether she wants to or not) and giving Ryan the inside track on her err, feelings about Louis Walsh. We're sure the whole book (yes, she's pushing an autobiography just in time for Christmas) will be covered in the interview, saving us the bother of having to pay for it. Noice.
They're also dragging Bishop Casey's young fella Peter Murphy over from America (for The Gathering we presume) and bringing Cork hurler Seán Óg Ó hAilpín into the studio for a bit of a chat.
Moving on to Chatty Man on Channel 4 at 10pm, Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will also be attempting to sell us an autobiography in time for the festive season. Last time she sat on Alan's sofa she was discussing titles for the bloomin' thing and the plaster cast of her own backside she has hanging in the house: Seriously, we don't know how Les Dennis did it...
On a brighter note, Alan's got Jared Leto (of 30 Second To Mars fame) on too, and we're sure he'll be just as enchnating as Joseph Gordon Levitt was last week. We can't help but wonder what Alan will make Jared do though: It's going to take a lot to follow that Britney 'Work B*tch' Spears whipping bonanza last Friday night.
The real highlights for us come courtesy of Michael Sheen and Karl Pilkington though. Sheen's joining Alan to talk Masters of Sex (a subject which we're sure the Chatty Man will go to town on), while Pilkington only has to be himself to make us chuckle.
Finally, we move over to BBC One at 11.05pm, where Graham Norton's packing the Hollywood heavyweights on to the sofa as per usual. His sofa is looking Absolutely Fabulous, darling, with Jennifer Saunders sitting proud alongside Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer. Yes Robert, he is talking to you.
And as if that wasn't enough, Graham's also got Cher on the show to belt out a tune and remind us she's still got it. Sure where else would you want to be of a Friday night, eh? Our Graham's got this chat show business in the bag.
So, will you be keeping it local with a bit of Tubbs? Or perhaps doing a spot of channel hopping as the night progresses? Either way, you're certainly set for a fairly decent night on the sofa.
