With the new series of Arrested Development set to debut on Netflix in a matter of days, there has been a lot of talk about Jeffrey Tambor's return to the show.
Tambor, of course, plays the Bluth family patriarch George in the sitcom, but his inclusion after being essentially fired from Transparent because of sexual harassment allegations has raised a few eyebrows.
It seems that all was not well on the set of Arrested Development, either, as a new article in the New York Times by Sopan Deb reveals.
Their reporter spent time with the cast - including Jeffrey Tambor - for a group discussion during which Jessica Walter, who plays Tambor's wife, the Bluth family matriarch Lucille, got emotional and revealed that he had been verbally abusive to her in the past, saying: "I have to let go of being angry at him. In almost 60 years of working, I’ve never had anybody yell at me like that on a set and it’s hard to deal with, but I’m over it now.”
You can read some excerpts from it below and the whole thing is here.
In a striking exchange, Jessica Walter teared up, with Tambor sitting a few feet away: "Verbally, yes, he harassed me, but he did apologize. I have to let it go."
She turned to Tambor: "And I have to give you a chance to, you know, for us to be friends again." pic.twitter.com/52smZ08aT7

However, she said that she would not hesitate to work with him again:
