When dear old Ant and Dec slipped on the hockey jerseys last weekend they never thought they'd be climbing to the top of the charts, but now it looks as though the duo have their sights set on world domination. The boys appeared on ITV's Daybreak this morning, and revealed that there is still talk of trying to take their brand all the way across the Atlantic.
"There's murmurings and there's talk about [the US] and obviously it's done so well here. There's only two left of the current run here, so there's talk about it", Dec said. "I don't know, I think it would be great, it would be fun to do in the States - Takeaway would be amazing out there. It's a big country - lots of people, lots of fun you could have - so who knows?" Sounds exciting, but as he said it's all up in the air, and their last attempt to break America didn't exactly go to plan now, did it?
What the lads do know though, is that they will NOT be releasing a follow up single to their new chart hit. Sure they never even expected it to take off in the first place, having only performed the song to fill a hole in the show.
“It was just a joke. We were fans of the Big Reunion anyway, so we were going to do something with them at the end of the show,” Ant explained. "Then we realised that we didn’t kind of have enough to fill what the end of the show show normally runs to. And we thought well, we could possibly dust off the old baseball caps and give it a go for a laugh", he said.
"At twenty-past-eight on Saturday night when the show finished we thought we'd fold up our hockey tops and that would be the end of it", Dec added. If only climbing all the way to the top of the charts was as easy for Blue, 5ive and Atomic Kitten, eh?
