It looks like we'll have an Irish flag to fly when the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' kicks off next month.
TV presenter Angela Scanlon has been announced as a contestant on the hugely popular ballroom dance show.
Although she has been based in London for years and has presented high-profile BBC shows including 'The One Show', 'Your Home Made Perfect' and 'Robot Wars' in recent years, the 39-year-old is a native of Ratoath, Co. Meath where her family still lives.
Her own RTE show 'Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything' has run for two series.
Scanlon will be joined on the 21st series of 'Strictly...' by 'Emmerdale' actor Adam Thomas, actress Amanda Abbington, TV presenter/newsreader Angela Rippon, comedian Eddie Kadi, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, 'Bad Education' actor Layton Williams and former 'Love Island' contestant Zara McDermott.
More celebrities have yet to be revealed, with the launch show expected to take place some time next month.
