We may have to wait until 2015 to catch another glimpse of Westeros on our screens, but it's full steam ahead on the production side of things as they gear up to film the upcoming season five. The HBO show has managed to bag a lineup of directors that are literally the cream of the crop in the television world which makes us all the more excited to see what they will do with this next series.

It's interesting to note too that while season four stuck with directors that would have worked on the show previously, there's a lot of new heads that will be making their mark on season five. Out of the five directors that will be working on the season, only one will have worked on the show before (David Nutter). Have to say, this worries us a little bit, but then we'll just have to trust that showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss know what they are doing, they haven't let us down yet after all.

In terms of who the directors will be, we've already told you that Breaking Bad director Michael Slovis will be joining the crew but now we know exactly what episodes he and the rest of the directors will be behind the camera for.

Episodes 501 and 502: Michael Slovis (episodes of Breaking Bad)
Episodes 503 and 504: Mark Mylod (episodes of Shameless and Entourage)
Episodes 505 and 506: Jeremy Podeswa (episodes of Boardwalk Empire and The Tudors)
Episodes 507 and 508: Miguel Sapochnik (episodes of House and Fringe)
Episodes 509 and 510: David Nutter (‘The Rains of Castamere’)

A bit of a random mix, but a talented bunch none the less, and we do like that the famous episode nine and the finale are left in the hands of David Nutter, the director behind the now infamous Red Wedding episode that was titled 'The Rains of Castamere'. We like it but we won't lie, it makes us wonder just what they have in store if they are bringing Nutter back in for these episodes... oh dear, everybody dies, don't they? We knew it.
