He has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last couple of years, but it seems like Alec Baldwin is attempting to wrestle back control of the negative narrative.

The 66-year-old actor has been charged with the involuntary manslaughter of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of western 'Rust' in 2021, and his trial is set to take place next month.

Just weeks before it begins, however, the actor and his wife Hilaria have announced their new reality series 'The Baldwins', which will follow their large family on US channel TLC.

As well as his adult daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Baldwin is father to seven children with wife Hilaria, whom he married in 2012: Ilaria (19 months), María Lucía (3), Eduardo "Edu" (3), Romeo (5), Leonardo (7), Rafael (8) and Carmen (10).

They announced the new series in a clip posted to Instagram, which sees Hilaria tell the camera: "We have an announcement to make."

Alec replies: "Good God, no", to which Hilaria responds: "No, definitely not - we’re done having kids."

Baldwin later says in the clip: "We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy. Home is the place we love to be most."

The 'Rust' trial begins in New Mexico on July 9th, and Baldwin, who was holding the gun when it went off, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza, faces up to 18 months' imprisonment if found guilty.
