Remember we told you a few months back that Amazon were thinking about making a Zombieland TV series to stream online? Well, it's happening folks. They've confirmed that the spinoff from the 2009 horror comedy movie will indeed be made, and even cast a brand new bunch of actors already.
Woody Harrelson's Tallahassee will be played by Kirk Ward, Maiara Walsh takes over from Emma Stone as Wichita, Tyler Ross replaces Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus and Izabela Vidovic is the new Little Rock, the character originally played by Abigail Breslin.
The movie's original writing team are still on board though. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are teaming up with producer Gavin Polone for the new series."Zombieland will strive to break the rules - action, adventure, thrills, chills and laughs and all packed into a half-hour format" said Wernick. "This is not your average show, but Amazon is not your average network."
And it seems as though Amazon is more than happy to welcome the new spinoff into the fold. "Zombieland is a fan favourite and we can't wait to see where this story line goes in a serialised format," said Amazon Studios Director Roy Price. "We've been announcing a lot of exciting exclusive content for Prime Instant Video, like Downton Abbey, Under the Dome and Justified, and we think adding original shows, such as Zombieland, to that lineup is going to make Prime even more enticing for customers."
What do you make of all this then? Is there any way the TV show can live up to the original film?
