Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be... a Stars In Their Eyes meets X Factor reboot, apparently. Yup, if this morning's tabloids are to be believed (and you know how reliable they are, right?), ITV bosses are planning to bring back an old Saturday night favourite, with a 'modern' twist.
Gone are the days when Matthew Kelly stood on stage of a Saturday evening, but Your Face Sounds Familiar will aim to fill the void, apparently. It's a tried and tested format: Seven 'slebs impersonate music stars over 6 weeks. Every week they take on a new icon and get points from a panel of judges before the public vote for the winner. It all sounds a bit Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes to us, but there you go. The show is coming courtesy of Endemol. the home of Big Brother and Deal Or No Deal after all...
British gospel of truth, The Sun, quotes an 'insider' as saying "Bosses have got high hopes for this. There is a gap in the market for another big entertainment show, particularly with the decline in ratings for The X Factor. It is not going to be the most serious programme and bosses want celebs who are up for some fun and will be pretty gung-ho about it. It is all for charity and will be very light-hearted. There will be a lot of laughs along the way."
If the rumours are true, Your Face Sounds Familiar will hit Irish TV screens in the summer.
