A lot of stability returned to the X Factor camp this year with Dermot O'Leary back on presenting duties, and Louis Walsh reclaiming his rightful place on the panel, but one aspect that was still up in the air was spin-off show Xtra Factor.
Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom fronted the series for 2015 but have since announced they were leaving (or asked to leave), and as of today, a new presenter has been announced. It's.... Matt Edmondson! Yeah we don't know who that is either.
UK folk probably do though as he presents a Saturday morning show on BBC Radio 1 and pops up on telly every now and then. Matt, who is a longtime fan of the show, said of the news; "I am unbelievably excited about joining The Xtra Factor this year, not least of all because on my first day Louis Walsh walked into my dressing room topless, unannounced. I regard this as the definition of ‘living the dream’."
So, this is happening. 🙅ðŸÂ?» https://t.co/Dx1oappkUD

While Richard Holloway, managing director of Thames TV and acting chief executive of FremantleMedia UK, said: "Matt is a very funny guy and his irreverent, humorous take on the world, along with our new live format, is set to make for a great series of Xtra Factor."
It was also announced that The Xtra Factor will be going live from the first episode... we thought it was already live though, no? More fool us.
