You'd better watch out and you'd better not cry, December is finally upon us and at this stage there's no escaping the inevitable - Christmas is coming.
If you're feeling particularly Christmassy or alternatively need some serious motivation to get into the spirit, then we're sure you won't say no to some festive offerings, eh? Here are just 5 Netflix treats to get you in the spirit before the big day arrives.
1. A Christmassy Ted - Father Ted
It's a staple in Irish households in December, so you quite simply can't go wrong with Father Ted's infamous Christmas special. From that neverending lingerie section (featuring your man from Grey's Anatomy) to the Golden Cleric and Mrs Doyle's 'delightful' Christmas present, you'd never be stuck for the festive laughs. It's Series 1 Episode 7 for those of you who are wondering.
2. The End Of Time - Doctor Who
David Tennant's last huzzah as 'The Doctor' was a smash hit when it aired across Christmas and New Year's on the BBC back in 2009/10. It seems particularly fitting to catch Matt Smith's episode just before his last, and of course watch Mr Tennant give another fantastic performance. Tissues out for this one folks, the climax will have you feeling a wee bit weepy. Series 4 Episodes 18 and 19.
3. The Royle Family Christmas Special (1999) - The Royle Family
The first (and arguably best) of all Royle Family Christmas offerings is a surefire hit and definitely one to watch ahead of a festive family gathering. Who could forget the night that Jim Royle showed his softer side, with Ricky Tomlinson giving us a series of bellyaches before bringing us all to tears. Season 2 Episode 7 is the one you're after.
4. Holy - Bottom
Oh Bottom. It's a bit of an institution and certainly made stars of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson. As Christmas Specials go, Holy has to be up there with the oddest of them, but sure who knew what would happen when Richard, Eddie, Spudgun and Hedgehog got together for a spot of dinner. A Christmas miracle is right... Series 2 Episode 5 is where you'll find all the festive action.
5. Undeck The Halls - Modern Family
What happens in Chez Dunphy when the kids go off the rails? Phil and Claire threaten to cancel Christmas, that's what. We're heading all the way back to Season 1 for the gang's first Christmassy offering and if Mitchell and Cameron taking Lily for her first picture with Santa doesn't get you right in the Christmas feels, well, we don't know what will. Season 1 Episode 10, for those of you who are wondering. Haven't they come a long way since then, eh?
