Nothing says Christmas is coming like an easy commute to work, mostly thanks to the fact that the kiddies are off school. However, when the little'uns are home keeping them out from under your feet ain't exactly that easy.
Enter Netflix, who've signed a pretty deadly deal with Cartoon Network which sees some of the channel's most beloved creations winging their way online. So here, without further ado, are just 5 seriously good classics that'll keep the kiddies entertained and may even have you glued to the screen for a few minutes.
G'wan now, haven't you got the big shop to be doing?
1. The Powerpuff Girls
Coming at you all the way from 1998 (yes, it was THAT long ago) are Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, also known as the Powerpuff Girls. These three delightfully sweet sisters dedicated their lives to saving the world from crime and fighting the forces of evil, inspiring an endless series of Halloween costumes while they were at it.
2. Dexter's Laboratory
Ah Dexter, sure you just had to love him, didn't you? Can you believe he's been around since 1996? The 8-year-old scientist seems just like any other kid but his bedroom is home to a secret laboratory filled with computers, experiments and machines. He's also got his hands full dealing with his pesky sister, Dee Dee, and his archrival, Mandark. And can we just say, we love the hair Dex. Love it.
3. Samurai Jack
We're moving a little closer to our own times now with young Jack. This lad became a samurai to avenge his father's death at the hands of the demon Aku. Thrown into the future during battle with his archfoe, Jack still seeks to destroy Aku and restore peace. Prepare to have tour mind blown when you realise his futuristic universe seems to be the same one the Powerpuff Girls came from...
4. Johnny Bravo
This lad wouldn't have looked out of place on Tallafornia but sure he's been doing his 'thang' since 1997 so in fairness, the lads were just taking his lead. Who knew that when a shy, 98-pound weakling morphed into Johnny Bravo, a 1960s-style rock 'n' roller complete with blond hair, a fantastic physique and an all-consuming desire to meet the perfect woman, that a legend would be born?
5. Adventure Time
So y'know all those Halloween costumes you couldn't quite put your finger on this year? Yeah, they were probbaly Adventure Time related. Released in 2010 this series tells the tale of young Finn and his shape-shifting dog buddy, Jake, who have a series of surreal adventures as they journey through the postapocalyptic Land of Ooo, encountering odd situations that involve even odder characters. You'll love it as much as the kids do, if not more.
