The final season of Game of Thrones' is fast approaching. Everyone is in high anticipation to see how it all ends.
For those of you who can't get enough of 'Game of Thrones' and love the behind-the-scenes stuff, this news should come as a pleasant surprise.
HBO, the American channel that airs the epic fantasy series, has announced it'll be airing a feature-length documentary on the show after the finale.
The doc is called 'Game of Thrones: The Last Watch'. It will broadcast on Sunday, May 26th, one week after the series finale.
The 2 hour long special was quietly commissioned by HBO and directed by Jeanie Finlay. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss serve as executive producers on it.
The description for the documentary reads:
"Made with unprecedented access, GAME OF THRONES: THE LAST WATCH is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers.
"Much more than a “making of” documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world — and then have to say goodbye to it."
HBO reportedly also shot a huge reunion special with all the current and former castmembers. It was during production on Season 8 last year. However this special will only be available to view by buying the complete series Blu-ray set.
'Game of Thrones' season 8 debuts on 14 April.
