Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell returns to the Top Gun Instructor programme, where he must confront his past as he trains a group of younger pilots for a deadly mission. Among them is the son of Maverick's deceased best friend, Lieutenant Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw.
