In March 1944, an uncompromising major is placed in charge of a top secret operation, Project Amnesty, a seemingly suicidal mission to destroy a French chateau being used as a base by Nazi officers. Needing tough but expendable soldiers for the task, he recruits 12 hardened criminals from a military prison.
