Four third-placed sides will be playing in the last 16, and it's likely that whichever one progresses will be the underdogs in this match, although, ironically, only Portugal of the third-placed nations last time out failed to make it to the quarter-finals, with Ukraine, the Czechs and Switzerland all causing upsets.
