An Irish family returns to Limerick from America in the 1930s after the death of one of the children, only to face a life of poverty. The father, treated with suspicion because of his Northern Irish roots, struggles to find work and begins to drink heavily, driving his wife to despair. Drama, based on Frank McCourt's memoir, starring Robert Carlyle, Emily Watson, Joe Breen, Ciaran Owens and Michael Legge.
