According to reports, there will be an episode on the Apollo 11 moon landing while the decolonisation of Africa and the Caribbean, the birth of Prince Edward, and Prince Charles’ coronation as the Prince of Wales in 1969 will also be covered.

'The Crown' was shot in a number of UK locations including London, Ely, Aberdeenshire, Guildford and Hertfordshire. Numerous scenes were filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, where sets for private quarters, the interior of a private jet, the cabinet room, and the exterior of 10 Downing Street, were all built. None of 'The Crown' is actually shot at Buckingham Palace, with Lancaster House, Wrotham Park and Wilton House doubling for the location instead. Greenwich Naval College subbed in for Buckingham Palace courtyard.

'Call the Midwife' stars Erin Doherty and Emerald Fennell will also feature in the cast of season 3 as Doherty plays Princess Anne while Fennell play the key role of Camilla Shand, Prince Charles’ future wife. Gillian Anderson is also joining the cast to play Margaret Thatcher.
