Although it's not yet known when the second season of 'The Mandalorian' will arrive on Disney+, the first bit of casting news has arrived online.

/Film is reporting that Rosario Dawson is joining the second season cast in a fan favourite role - Ahsoka Tano. For those unfamiliar with the character, Ahsoka Tano featured in the animated series 'The Clone Wars' and 'Rebels' as Anakin Skywalker's apprentice.

The character was voiced by Ashley Eckstein in both series, and also featured at the end of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' as one of the voices that spoke to Rey during the movie's climax. As well as this, the character's featured in comics, novels and has become a firm fan favourite.

It's not yet clear whether or not the report is accurate, however, /Film is claiming that they've verified the casting news with two individual sources. So far, Rosario Dawson hasn't confirmed or denied the news, nor has Disney announced the casting either.

'The Mandalorian' had a number of well-known guest stars, including Bill Burr, Richard Ayoade, not to mention Amy Sedaris and of course Werner Herzog.
