Poland's first original Netflix series, '1983', is shaping up to something pretty special if this teaser is anything to go by.

Directed by Oscar nominee Agnieszka Holland, '1983' follows a fascinating premise that's not a million miles away from the likes of 'The Man In The High Castle' or Robert Harris' 'Fatherland'. Set in an alternative Poland twenty years after a terrorist attack changed the course of history and kept the Iron Curtain standing across Europe, an idealistic law student stumbles across a decades-long conspiracy that threatens to upend years of totalitarian rule in the country.

Written by Joshua Long, the eight-part series is currently being filmed in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Lublin, and Silesia, and will arrive on Netflix later this year.

Here's the teaser.
