Brilliant news for fans of the Netflix series, as the original plan of having six seasons is put back into place once again.
Netflix has decided that its good ol' viewers of 'The Crown' deserve one more little treat - a whole extra season. This means that after Olivia Colman finishes up in the role of Queen Elizabeth in the forthcoming season four, we can expect a further TWO seasons of 'The Crown' with Imelda Staunton lined up to play the top dog.
Writer/creator Peter Morgan said of the news to Netflix: "As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons."

So, it's looking even more likely that the final season sixth season of 'The Crown' will be edging ever-closer to current times. Could we see some Will, Kate, Harry and Meghan drama unfold on screen? Now that'll be interesting to see play out...
Season four of the Netflix drama is expected to arrive later this year, after finishing up filming early due to what producers could foresee coming. In terms of seasons five and now six, Imelda Staunton will play the role of Queen Elizabeth, Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret, while Prince Andrew is expected to be making an appearance.
