Yesterday, it was announced that writer / director team Joel and Ethan Coen would be creating a TV project for the streaming platform and now Netflix have released details of the show.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will be coming to Netflix in 2018. It will be a 6 part anthology series telling tales of the American frontier, with each chapter featuring a different story about the American west. Tim Blake Nelson will star as Buster Scruggs, who will presumably be the link between the different tales. Nelson has worked with the Coens before, starring in O! Brother Where Art Thou.
The American frontier is a frequent theme in the work of the Coens. It plays a part in Fargo, True Grit and No Country For Old Men. It will be interesting to see how they translate that vision onto the smaller screen.
