In a year that has seen many of the world go through devastating hardship through the loss of friends and family, it seems very brave of Charlie Brooker to name his Netflix documentary with this title.

Yes, in the year where his 'Black Mirror' anthology series basically came to life, the upcoming Charlie Brooker mockumentary special will be entitled 'Death to 2020'.

Starring Hugh Grant, the Mrs. Rona mockumentary promises to be something unique. Grant has teased that he'll be playing a character which viewers will find "pretty repellent". Is he the virus come to life?

He said of his new acting role: "Charlie Brooker has written a mockumentary about 2020. It’s for Netflix, and I am a historian who’s being interviewed about the year. I’m pretty repellent, actually! And you’ll like my wig."

Maybe Brooker will be wiping the year from all of our collective memories?

Here's the brief teaser for 'Death to 2020', which Netflix says will be released soon. It's full of glitchy-looking words, paired up with uncomfortably high-octane string instruments.

Brooker previously stated that there wouldn't be a new season of 'Black Mirror' arriving this year - because we were already living in what felt like an alternate reality.

He told Radio Times earlier this year: "I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing. At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on any of those ['Black Mirror' episodes]."
