Having starred in the likes of 'Everybody Wants Some!!", '22 Jump Street' and 'Overlord' previously, Wyatt Russell has landed his biggest gig to date, being cast in Marvel's 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'.
The Disney+ series sees Wyatt Russell play John Walker, a high-ranking US Army member who the government chooses to be the next Captain America.
Last week's episode of the show introduced the character to fans and demonstrated the sense of responsibility, and the celebrity, that comes with his role.
In a way then, art is reflecting reality, as Wyatt Russell indicated in a recent interview on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.'
The actor revealed that he knew little about the Marvel movies or comics before landing the role.
"I didn't grow up knowing much about comic books," he explains. "My heroes were athletes. So when I came on set I was like 'well, what does that mean? Who's that person? Or how do they fit in?'
"So finally Sebastian [Stan] was like 'Dude, stop asking questions, because when you get answers, it's going to be worse, you'll be more confused.'"
"It kind of works for the character, because he's new and he's not a part of the old universe," Russell added. "But it was semi-embarrassing to be in the Marvel office and be like 'I don't know, sorry'."
The host and actor also spoke about Chris Evans' original suit, and how Wyatt's father Kurt Russell was also in the MCU, playing Ego in 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.'
Wyatt Russell said of trying on his new suit for the first time: "It was, 'Oh God. Take it off. You've got the wrong guy, send me back. You're going to lose so much money.'
"Honestly it was like, how am I going to act in this thing? It looks as uncomfortable as I look in it."
