'Ted Lasso' season 2 now has an official trailer as well as an official release date this summer. The series proved such a hit for Apple TV+ that it already got renewed for a third season as well.

The show stars Jason Sudeikis in the role of Ted Lasso.

The titular character is a coach of college-level American football, who gets unexpectedly recruited to coach an English Premier League team, AFC Richmond, in spite of having no prior experience with association football.

As the official synopsis reads: "But what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination…and biscuits."

Sudeikis co-developed the series with Bill Lawrence ('Scrubs'), Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt.

The actor won a Golden Globe and SAG award last year for his lead performance.

The character of Ted Lasso is based on a character of the same name that Sudeikis previously portrayed in a number of promos for NBC Sports' coverage of the Premier League.

Aside from Sudeikis, fans of the Apple TV+ show can expect Brendan Hunt to return as Coach Beard while Nick Mohammed returns as Assistant Manager Nathan "Nate" Shelley.

Season 2 of 'Ted Lasso' consists of 12 episodes.

It will debut on Apple TV+ on July 23, 2021.
